After reviewing a list of over 200 potential locations, KRCD is proposing to construct the Community Power Plant at 9664 S. Bethel Avenue, Selma, CA 93662. Sized at approximately 32-acres, this property is on the east side of Bethel Avenue between Manning and Dinuba avenues, southwest of the Parlier Wastewater Treatment Facility.

When siting a natural gas-fired power plant, three resource criteria must be met: 1) a water source for cooling the plant, 2) an interconnection into the electrical grid and 3) a source of natural gas to fuel the plant.

The location of the plant offers numerous benefits to the surrounding area including improvements in water quality, air quality and electrical reliability.
